Let’s break that down. In the plainest reading, misdirection means “the action or process of directing someone to the wrong place or in the wrong direction.”

Sources say Dugan didn't hide the defendant and his attorney in a jury deliberation room, as other media have said. Rather, sources said, when ICE officials left to talk with the chief judge on the same floor, Dugan took the pair to a side door in the courtroom, directed them down a private hallway and into the public area on the 6th floor. More details are bound to come out in the next couple of days. But ask yourself one question: how do you “misdirect” a federal agent if you never have contact with them — and never speak to them? Based on current reporting, it seems like she neither told ICE officials where the defendant was, nor misled them in any way.

Kash Patel was at least smart enough to realize he humiliated himself — although MAGA is still pushing a completely false narrative that even the FBI’s own statements contradict.
